Phyllis Gaines, Dancer

Phyllis has had success as a singer, dancer, and actress. Earning a degree in Theatre, she went on to sing in New York and as a featured entertainer on cruise ships.  Having also studied at the New York School of American Sign Language Institute, she was featured with her signing skills in the Spanish music video for MTV, “Le Jente” by Jose Alberto.   Phyllis has earned a Master of Science degree in Leisure Services Administration at Gallaudet University, the only liberal arts school in the world for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Phyllis currently teaches American Sign Language to High School students and is a dance professor at University of Tampa. She continues to dedicate her life hoping one-day to bridge the gap between Deaf & hearing children through recreational activities, and the performing arts.
